……. thats so fucking scary…. =(
Yo. This is real life dystopian shit. They comin for us and aren’t hiding it. No one has answered why Detroit doesn’t take money from the surrounding areas that have like 40x the income Detroit has. Instead they start doing this shit. Its only going to get worse. They are going to start killing people soon. They turned the power off without warning. They obviously have no concern for people’s lives. They’re treating the 80% black residents like they’re children. And there is nothing for the poor people of Detroit to do. Nothing. And America is going to sit back and laugh about it.
What the actual fuck. And those suburbs outside of Detroit really do have fuck tons of money.
Michigan actually owes Detroit a fucktonne of money. Huge amounts. And flatly refuse to pay it.
So, instead of sending an actual “message to the people”, you jus cut the power? If the city of Detroit is bankrupt, then that means the citizens are bankrupt. Everyone can’t be rich Detroit citizens, if the city is broke. That makes logical sense right? So, I’m pretty sure the only electricity the citizens of Detroit were using were the electricity they could afford, which makes his reason “that the citizens didn’t reduce power” complete bull.
Trust me, cut off the power in DC because its residents wouldn’t reduce their power, all the whites would lose their minds and hang the President. That reason is just evil. This is just evil.
the reason female writers (ones who use characters as more of self inserts vs tools - not a “good reason” but an explanation) feel the need to make their characters have a sweet and tough side is a socialized thing and yes, gender plays a very important role. they want two things in a character that involves power they don’t feel they have in real life. a.) power and toughness: a character that somehow defies the stereotype that women are “weak” and emotional by making them switch over to tough and switch off emotion at the drop of a hat. and
b.) a character that is universally likable. period. there’s more pressure on women in society to be desired and liked by everyone in order to have importance.
the world is so depressing I just want to eat ice cream and watch anime
Police said they wouldn’t “disperse.” “We tried to tell them that we were waiting for the bus. We weren’t catching a city bus, we were catching a yellow bus. He didn’t care. He arrested us anyways.”
